Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn
I just finished this suspensful novel about a VERY dysfunctional family. Camille Preaker is a small-town woman living in Chicago as a reporter who goes back to her town to report on a murder of a young girl. I don’t normally read a lot of “serious” books, but this one has a cool cover.
The story was dark (which I LOVE) and disturbing (which I LOVE EVEN MORE)… It’s a debut novel from Flynn, which is a surprise as it is written in such a way that the reader would never have guessed the author was new. I really enjoyed it and couldn’t put it down, there’s just enough sex, violence, and weirdness to keep you hooked!
