Once Upon a Zombie – HOT New Doll Line of Fairytale Zombie Dolls!
Anyone who knows me knows 3 things about me:
- I love zombies.
- I love fairytales.
- I love bacon.
While one of those doesn’t go with this post (which is a surprise, because bacon goes with EVERYTHING), the other two were meshed together in a super cool new doll. Meet Once Upon a Zombie!
Something’s gone wrong in the Fairy Tale Universe! All of the iconic, beloved characters are transforming into zombies! All their kingdoms including, Wonderland, Neverland and the Enchanted Forest, are decaying into wastelands. It’s up to one girl, Caitlin Rose Fletcher, to find a way to prevent the zombification of the entire universe!
When I went to Chicago for Blogher ’13 this year, I was lucky enough to be invited to Sweet Suite, a party showcasing all sorts of fun new toys. Yes, I got to PLAY!! While I was there I spotted out of the corner of my eye this table. The table was set up with the coolest Zombie Fashion Dolls I had ever seen. I was drawn to it. I left the small group of bloggers I was there with to see what it was all about and met David. He introduced me to the new doll line. I was mesmerized.
A few years ago I painted a series called “Fairytale Nightmares”, depicting famous fairytale and nursery rhyme characters in devious and dark scenes. Like Alice with her “eat me” cake and swirls of striped curls reaching for her. Or that nursery rhyme “The Little Girl With a Little Curl” hiding a large pair of scissors behind her back and her stuffed teddy bear’s head cut off in the foreground.
Did I just show you all my dark side?
Ok, back to these amazing dolls. I was sent the gorgeous Little Mermaid to check out:
- Articulated joints
- Incredible facial painting
- rooted eyelashes
- Inset eyes (NOT painted!)
- exquisite costume detailing
- body paint with little stitches
- a custom stand so she is ready to display.
I expected these dolls to be in the $40-$50 price range, but NO – their retail price is around $20! See, I know dolls. That’s another thing you may not know. I collect fashion dolls. I have vintage barbies, OOAK (One Of A Kind) dolls, and modern dolls. While many of them are packed up, I do have a few displayed on my mantle and my husband actually doesn’t mind since they are a bit “morbid”.
So you can see my lovely Little Mermaid Once Upon a Zombie doll is totally at home with The Wicked Witch of the West.
Once Upon a Zombie doll line includes:
